Japenese Language

Japanese language classes are structured to help students navigate the complexity of the writing systems: Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji. In the early stages, students learn Hiragana and Katakana to enable them to read and write basic texts. As they progress, Kanji—characters borrowed from Chinese—introduces layers of meaning and requires memorization of both the characters and their readings.

Speaking and listening skills are emphasized through interactive dialogues and group activities. Teachers often employ a communicative approach, where students practice conversational Japanese in context. This might include scenarios like ordering food, asking for directions, or discussing hobbies. Cultural elements play a significant role, with lessons on Japanese customs, etiquette, and traditions woven throughout the curriculum.

Advanced classes explore complex grammar and vocabulary, often involving literature, anime, and film analysis. Students might engage in projects that require them to research cultural topics, present findings, and discuss them in Japanese. This approach not only builds language skills but also deepens cultural appreciation.
